The Cobra Foundation is Partnership with The Newnan Outlaws, St. Smyrna Baptist Church, and Faith By Hearing Christian Center Church will be hosting a trip on April 6th 2016 to the Birmingham, AL Civil Rights Museum and McWane Science Center.  Central Education Center located at 160 Martin Luther King Drive Newnan, GA 30265 will serve as both our Drop Off and Pick Up location. The details of our trip are as followed, (all Times are in EST):

 

• 7:00am – 8:00am             Student Drop Off at Central Education Center

• 8:00am - 8:30am              Departure to Birmingham, AL

• 10:30am – 11:00am         Arrive at Birmingham Civil Right Museum & Snack Time

• 11:00am – 12:30pm         Civil Rights Tour

• 12:30pm – 1:30pm           Lunch in Lynn Park (if Weather Permits) (if Not McWane Center Café)

• 1:30pm – 2:00pm             Clean Up and Travel to McWane Science Center

• 2:00pm – 4:00pm             McWane Science Center Experience

• 4:00pm – 4:30pm             Departure to Newnan, GA

• 6:30pm – 7:00pm             Student Pick Up Central Education Center

 

This trip is part of The Cobra Foundation Crime Prevention / Stop The Violence initiatives. The purpose of this trip is to educate our local youth (4th – 12th Grades) on the struggles, people of color overcame during the Civil Right Moment.  It is our hope that a trip of this magnitude will help local students understand the sacrifices made so they could have the freedoms they enjoy today.
